Topic "Making friends with stress"

On November 19, 2024, at Hall 10F, the Student Affairs Department of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) organized a seminar on "Making friends with stress". This is one of the outstanding events in the series of mental health care activities for students, with the participation of Master Nguyen Hai Uyen, a collaborator of the TDTU School Psychology Department.
During the seminar, Master Nguyen Hai Uyen opened up a truly close and friendly space, where students are encouraged to face themselves and view stress from a different perspective: not as an enemy to avoid, but as a factor that can be learned to be friends with. She led students through a journey of exploring stress from theory to practice, helping them to identify and accept their inner emotions more gently, no longer feeling afraid or pressured every time stress is mentioned.
Ms. Uyen analyzed the diverse causes of stress in student life, from study pressure, worries about the future, to comparing yourself with others, especially in the context of social networks becoming increasingly popular and deeply affecting psychology. From there, the reporter guided students to understand the causes and methods to control and reduce stress.
Not only stopping at identifying stress, the topic also provides flexible handling skills. When you understand yourself and know how to communicate with stress, you will no longer feel overwhelmed by challenges in your studies and life. Instead of being swept away by waves of stress, you will feel the strength of self-control and the ability to control your emotions, thereby mastering your life and firmly facing all difficulties. The seminar ended with understanding, opening up an opportunity for each student to look at stress from a new perspective: not as a factor to be eliminated, but as a natural part of life, which can be a "friend" and companion. This is not only a reminder of the importance of emotional management but also the first step to help students build self-control and deal with stress positively. Stress, if understood correctly and managed well, is no longer a barrier but becomes a motivation for us to live fully and achieve future goals.
