Ton Duc Thang University equips students with legal knowledge and enhances their risk prevention skills
As part of the "Civic and Student Orientation Week" for the 2026–2027 academic year, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) organized a session titled "Preventing Legal Violations Among Students," featuring presentations by Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Dao Minh Huy and Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Nhao from the Staff Division of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department.
Threats such as online fraud, predatory lending ("black credit"), drug abuse, online gambling, and asset misappropriation are emerging with increasingly sophisticated tactics. During the session, the speakers analyzed real-life scenarios to help students recognize warning signs and gain a better understanding of the risks they may encounter in both daily life and the online environment.

Drawing on real-life cases, students are guided on how to exercise caution regarding offers of quick money, non-transparent loans, suspicious links, and requests for personal information. In addition to protecting their assets and personal data, students are also reminded of their responsibilities when sharing, commenting, and interacting on social media.

A key point emphasized during the program was the importance of individuals cultivating the habit of understanding and complying with the law in their daily conduct. Students were encouraged to proactively notify the university and relevant authorities if they detect any irregularities or potential threats to security and safety, thereby ensuring they receive appropriate assistance.
Through this initiative, TDTU reaffirms its commitment to fostering legal compliance, ethical values, and social responsibility. The university aims to create a safe, disciplined, and civilized learning environment while equipping students with the necessary tools to confidently navigate situations in their academic pursuits, personal lives, and broader social engagement.
