Equipping TDTU students with skills to identify social media scams
Faced with the increasing number of high-tech crimes, especially fraudulent acts of appropriating property via social networks, equipping students with prevention skills has become an urgent requirement, especially for students - a dynamic young force but also an easy target for scammers. In order to raise awareness and self-protection skills in cyberspace for students, on the morning of April 16, 2025, at Hall 6M, the Student Affairs Department of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) organized a seminar on "Skills to identify fraudulent acts and appropriation of property on social networks". The program attracted the participation of more than 300 students from many faculties and majors.

At the seminar, students listened to Captain, Master Nguyen Quang Than - Lecturer of the Faculty of Criminal Investigation, People's Police University share and analyze the sophisticated scams that are commonly encountered today: Impersonating relatives, impersonating authorities, virtual recruitment, giving away winning gifts, taking over account access, etc. Not only stopping at identifying the tricks, Captain Quang Than also guided students on how to secure personal information, increase vigilance when interacting on social networks and provide appropriate handling procedures when detecting or becoming a victim of fraud.

The seminar not only provides practical knowledge but also helps students raise awareness of the dangers of cybercrime, thereby proactively protecting themselves and the community.
Protecting yourself in the digital environment is a journey that requires understanding, alertness and initiative. Hopefully, after the program, each TDTU student will become a smart, safe and responsible user in cyberspace.
