Creative Language Center holds Debate Competition in English

In Vietnam, domestic water may become a scarce resource due to urbanization, population growth, climate change, or such. This is a great challenge for the government and the people, demanding a systematic approach and changes in planning and the management of water use.

The workshop on "Sustainable water use/reuse in the environment and cities" held by the Faculty of Environment and Labor Safety at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) in collaboration with Saxion University of Applied Sciences (the Netherlands) and a number of water industry enterprises was an opportunity for exchange and discussion, thereby  promoting comprehensive and effective awareness of water resources management and water treatment technologies for urban areas.

The workshop was attended by Mr. Carel Richter, Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City; Dr. Harry Futselaar, international expert on water treatment technology at Saxion University of Applied Sciences; researchers and lecturers of TDTU, together with experts, scientists, businesses and managers of domestic and foreign water resources.

At the workshop, the Rapporteurs presented the status of water use in Vietnam and introduced the experience and water treatment technologies of the Netherlands. On this occasion, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands has sponsored TDTU through the demonstration model of advanced mobile water treatment technology called "Mexplorer".

With support from the Government, Dutch organizations and businesses, challenges of water scarcity in Vietnam were analyzed, evaluated and handled effectively in the workshop. The Program took place from 4 November through 5 November 2019 at TDTU.
